Yup, I woke the kids up early to watch it as part of science class. I sent them back to bed for a few hours though and then when they wake up they will be getting a little test.

It has nothing to do with proving prior life, where'd you hear that cockamamie story? It has to do with whether or not a base can be established on the moon at some future date to aid in deeper space exploration.

If there's water there, it can be separated into hydrogen for fuel and oxygen for breathing. Reduce the amount of cargo that needs to be moved from here to there and you get a much more significant savings than the cost of this experiment, both in today's dollars and in future inflationary dollars. It's building for the future.

Sorry, $80 million to know if there is water on the moon seems well worth it to me. Just knowing that there is water on another moon or planet awes me; It means there can be life other than on earth.

The amount of money we spend on our space program every year is less than a cup of coffee in our taxes. I can live with that. I'd rather NASA have the money than some crack whore raising six kids on welfare.
