I haven't bought fireworks in 10 years. I haven't seen any reason to waste the money.

We did our grilling yesterday so I just stayed home and watched the Star Wars marathon.

Got up really early, bought an inner tube type float, swam out to the reef with Christy as we pulled a large floating dive flag and floated inner tube floats and went snorkeling on Vista Park reef.

Started pouring rain as soon as we got home so spend the rest of the day on the couch watching movies.

Edit, not sure why the YouTube embed code isn't working for this movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55PA4E8hjB4).

Fireworks is never a waste of money. Because they go bang.

For some reason, our town had it's fireworks Saturday night on the 3rd. This seems to have been a common thing. I think it's because it's cheaper to have extra police / firemen / city workers working on a Saturday on a holiday weekend than on a Sunday. And we were lucky to have fireworks; The city didn't pay for them and a handful of local businesses stepped up so we could have them. So Saturday night we walked out to the lake behind our house and sat up on the hill and watched the fireworks.

This morning we had the parade, which my daughter was in.

Tonight... We had a block party. About a month ago we got together and all pitched in money. A few of our neighbors drove down to Mexico and brought back a ton of fireworks - the real stuff. At the same time, we all went to the local booths they set up and bought the big packs. I donated a $150 "block party" pack. So we sat there for three hours just lighting stuff off. Fun stuff.

Went to fireworks last night.
Had a cook out tonight and had codewhore's mom over.
Copious amounts of pool time. I'm actually turning brown from all the sun I've been getting this summer! :giggle:
