Twenty-eight per cent claim to abstain, with the highest figure occurring in Scotland, where 38 per cent are celibate.

Why?!?!?

Christ - this frightens me of going near my 30s.

because only in a place like Scotland would the guys rather be hanging out with other guys getting drunk then hitting some pussy!

"statistics" :)

How many of the women polled were 50 or over? How many were 60 or over? How many were 70 or over? How many were 80 or over? It doesn't say does it? Over 35 could mean anything up to a 100. I've worked on surveys interviewing the UK public about all sorts of things. The most difficult age group to get interviews with is 25-35. The easiest is 55+. The oldest person I interviewed was 96.

There was another poll done a few years ago that found 3% of UK women identify as lesbian and 7% identify as bisexual and that 5% of UK men id'd as gay and 4% as bisexual. I can't even find a link for it now. But I'd say that is probably fairly accurate. The Lesbian and Gay Switchboard took that research and stated that 10% of people in the UK are gay for a poster campaign - which wasn't really an accurate interpretation of the data.

Good points. The worst thing about any survey is the assumption that there is a percentage of error in there. How did they target these women? Did they go into the study looking for women who have never had sex and then did the survey? I highly doubt it was random, which is how any survey should be done. I think I'd be pretty honest with a random phone poll about sex though. It would be fun. Although, I may be more likely to embellish.

I'm a virgin. Thankfully my wife respect that and is able to give birth without sex like the virgin mary.
