What are some of your techniques to increase traffic to your blogs? I've heard some talk about they have no link trades to others, opened the blog for less than a month and have more than 2k in uniques per day. It amazes me and makes me feel inadequate at the same time, so I'm looking to change up what I do.

I'm sure that is possible, but then again I've learned not to believe everything that I read.

I think one technique that gets overlooked is 404 and Error traffic.

I would expect they have their own pre existing site networks they link from...

perhaps there is some resource I have yet to tap into. Not sure what it is yet though

Does W P have a htaccess fille or would the directory htaccess file override it?

WP themes usually have their own 404 page and if not one can easily be created http://bbs.mediumpimpin.com/showthread.php?t=69217
Sending 404 traffic from other sites is also a huge way of getting traffic ie: the domain you submit your galleries from

Some of the bigger TGP's won't allow you to send your 404 traffic to another site, they ask for a clear 404 page. Don't know anymore if it was the hun or krawl...

Maybe try the Adult Gadget Spots (http://www.adultgadgetspots.com) link/impression trading network - it's totally free to try and there is also money making opportunities as you share in any paid members in your referrals. They also have a sister network for mainstream sites, Gadget Spots (http://www.gadgetspots.net).

I'll have to give this a try and see how well it works. Of course, I'll report back once things are set up and have been implemented for a while!

Ahh yes that could become an issue, I don't do it myself but hadn't thought about that drawback.
