I caught most of this movie by accident on Sunday and I'm glad I did. It was very interesting and had a great ensemble cast. It covers the behind the scenes politics of the 2000 election. I'm not someone to take a movie as verbatim, so if you get the chance to watch it, you should surely assume it was written from a specific point of view with an agenda in mind.

That being said, if even half of the actions of some of the people involved are true, it's very scary. Watching American citizens cheer when democracy takes a back seat to a newly created and temporary "Law" is quite unsettling.

How far are Republicans AND Democrats for that matter, willing to push the envelope to ensure their candidate is elected? If this movie was 100% accurate, and I'm not saying that it is, I'd be both embarrassed and outraged to be an American.

There's just TOO MUCH to ignore. People like 12clicks will continue to tell us we're childish and idiots and blah blah blah... but eventually you have to think.. maybe there's something to this.

I didn't want to either quite frankly, but it grabbed me right away. There was so much more going on behind the scenes that I had no idea of.

I'm watching it now. I figure it's common knowledge though that the electronic voting machines are always going to be in question. The movie I mentioned shows voting districts turning away eligible voters because their name was CLOSE to that of a convicted felon who was ineligible to vote. Then there were the lawsuits on each side trying to get votes disqualified. Then the ONE TIME law of the supreme court, something that the supreme court had never done in it's history. Putting a time limit on the recount, and the disruptions to ensure the recount wouldn't be completed on time. etc. etc. It was sickening watching the lawyers and the "Law" trying to decide what is supposed to be a democratic process.

It's all bloody scary and unfortunately for democracy, there are more people out there that will express resignation...like Kevin above, than there are people who will try to fight the process.

This years election will be an entertaining one to watch.

Sure I have work to do but I just watched the hacking democracy video. I don't have time to get in to a full rant but a few things I have to comment on. I have to say that in a way I am now glad that Kerry didn't win the election. I never liked him and called him a coward on several occasions. If what I saw in this video is true then he truly is a coward. He knew there was tampering. He lied and backed out any ways after promising that he would not. I can only imagine how much worse shit might be now with a coward like that in office. Though it's not too hard to imagine now, we have in office now.

Another thing I found disturbing among MANY things was when they were given the fake ballot tapes that had been printed out later and then find an actual one that had been signed and it showed different amounts than what they had been told and given.

That should end the whole debate right there. No more proof was needed it. It is the smoking gun and not one official will do anything about it. And, this goes to show yet again, why democrats suck! The refuse to follow through on anything. They have the smoking gun and back down from every fucking fight.

As much as I can't stand Bush and the current republican party I will at least say this, they get shit done and they don't back down. Sure they aren't listening to the majority of the people but they have an agenda and they are getting it done while the dems keep getting bitch slapped like some poor battered house wife being told to get back in the kitchen and bake me a pie!

It's just a coincidence that it happened in state where Dubya's brother was governor state.

The move to electronic voting machines without a paper trail really was to make things more accurate.

I won't cum in your mouth.

I'm sorry, that no one could read what was going on in that deep vast dark space between your ears, in order to properly answer your question. We all know what ever the answer maybe you must be right about it.
