a 14month old child in our community needs regular bone marrow transplants or something like that to live, anyone ever done this, i heard bone marrow transfusions are extremely painful, am I wrong?

i am the recipient of a bone marrow transplant,
i think in Canada they still use the needle extraction method, so the donor will feel pretty rough for a couple of days....like having a couple of bad falls when you are skiing.

matched donors arent that easy to find either..

thanks shemp, since i've become a father i have a new look at life, especially when young children the age of my own kids are suffering.

it would be great if more people registered for bone marrow transplants..
i owe my life to a young man in Germany who signed up to see if he matched one of his relatives...he didnt match his relative, but he did match me.. :)
