Starting with NOTHING, maybe a few hundred dollars to start a TGP, how would you start and make a TGP grow to a reasonable size, only 10k, 20k, or more a day traffic?

I'm curious how some people can just throw up a TGP and have it doing nice traffic within a few weeks, I'm not big on scripts, but would use them, I like the old style straight link trades, but I don't think that will fly with most people. I'm curious what you would do and what you have to say about it, if it's even worth the trouble anymore?

Thanks buddy, hope you're doing well.

If you like the totally clean look, with no scripts and trades, then only one site fits that role, "theHUN".

No one has been able to dupicate what the Hun has done and even sites with trade scripts and link trades cant touch him.

So now we can eliminate that model, as neither you nor i can duplicate the Huns success. So whats left?

I think in todays market, most webmasters are obsessed with the traffic counter as the benchmark for success. Many of the large TGPs buy traffic to enhance their position on the counter sites. Anyway, if i were to start a TGP today, i would...

1. Short, catchy domain name.
2. Daily updates
3. Use YOUR OWN galleries in the top spots, not sponsor hosted galleries, use those as fillers.
4. Invest in a good trade script TM3, RB4, UCJ etc
5. If you skim, skim small 15% max.
6. Never send a surfer away from your site until he has seen a few real galleries.
7. Put something on your site that no one else has, daily movies clips, horoscope, daily rant, weather report. etc.
8. Use the shemp recip theory on your galleries.
9. Use the shemp theory for swapping SHGs with other sites.

is my tgp consider doing good when its 2.5-3k/day steady and growing within 2 weeks of launch?

started with buying some traffic with great prods (traffic-out) to start trades

i use hosted galleries as fillers, top spot my own galleries
first 2 clicks are definitely going to galleries =) and skimming is only 35% :D... but is ept considered as a good trade script shemp?

Sponsor hosted galleries. there is a way of getting them on other sites if you are smart about it.

EPT is the paid version of TTT. Not a bad script actually. I'm using TTT one two sites now, and will upgrade as they grow.

Ah, cool then, i would recommend it. There are many good scripts around now. You guys are so lucky. The first script we had made in 1998/9 cost us 4500.00.

Hi Shemp! I'm new to this board, but just couldn't resist asking a couple questions.

Just to clarify, I'm assuming your own galleries still promote a sponsor, right? And is the thinking about personal galleries to mean they won't be the same retread templates seen everywhere else, or are you indicating something different?

>>8. Use the shemp recip theory on your galleries.
9. Use the shemp theory for swapping SHGs with other sites. <<

Are these theories already posted on this site? I haven't thoroughly perused the posts yet, so I apologize if I'm missing something totally obvious.

Thank you for the contributions you're making here and to the community. It's immensely helpful and valuable.

You are right...dont load sponsor hosted galleries in your first few spots. Make some of your own using non sponsor content.
