I didn't know this until a while ago. But back in the 60's it was bought by Robert P McCulloch and moved to the Lake Havasu area.

I knew, it was a fuck up though. They actually wanted to buy Tower Bridge, but just called it London Bridge because they assumed that was its name because its the real landmark. Unbeknown to them, London Bridge was just your everyday road bridge (its the next one up from Tower Bridge) and got that by accident.

McCulloch of McCulloch Oil for the sum of $2,460,000. (It has been claimed that he was under the mistaken belief that he was buying Tower Bridge, which is often erroneously called 'London Bridge' by tourists, though McCulloch himself strongly denied this.)

Although it must bring Lake Havasu some notoriety, so in a quirky kind of way it may be better for them lol.

I know they have a London Bridge there, because Lake Havasu is the spot for anything summer related. There's more tits there on any given day then anywhere else. You pull up in your boat, tie up to the boat next to you and people just walk from boat to boat, laughing, drinking and flashing everyone. Its just a non stop laid back party.
