Did anybody purchase any?

For those who dont know what Tim Hortons is, its our coffee store chain. Canadians are crazy about it and they now have an opportunity to own a piece of it.

Sure I enjoy coffee, but wouldnt go out of my way to purchase it....except for their Ice Cappuccino :) If I bought stocks, I think I'd spend much more money at Timmies.

Fluid on the other hand really should have invested. That punk drinks Timmie's coffee like he drinks beer or water.

next week will be too late...today was supposed to be the big price jump
their initial offering price was well below the anticipated market value of the stock

I'll only buy if it's a good deal at the time. I am very strict with my budgeting. I get 1 check a month from a certain sponsor that i only use for investing. But if I missed the boat on this one so be it. There is always something new coming up:)

getting in on this early will be a windfall IMO.
$27 per share is cheap. :2cents:

they just opened a new store down the street, I'd try it if I consumed those sort of products

That's great to hear! How many shares did you buy?
Just wondering how much you made. :)

Shares of Tim Hortons, the largest Canadian doughnut chain, jumped C$6.10, or 23 percent, to C$33.10. Owner Wendy's International Inc. yesterday sold 29 million shares at C$27, raising C$783 million ($671.7 million) in the biggest North American initial public offering in nine months. More than 17.5 million shares changed hands, the most of any stock in Toronto.

If we had been able to do what I wanted, (IE..if someone didn't sleep in and we had a chance to talk early in the morning-- I didn't see her the night before) we would have been in for about 185-200 shares.

We would have made between $1128.50-$1220.00 just for doing nothing more than waking up early, making a phone call to a broker and a phone call to our bank.

edit- in retrospect, I have decided that cuban chick is never allowed to sleep again

Yes, closed at $33.. but it was up to $37 at one point.

The "experts" said that it would go up to $34... I said higher. I was right. It ended up closing where they said the high would be.

I wouldn't have been able to track the peaks yesterday and sell in time, I was out of town, so the best I could have done would have been leaving an order to sell the stock 20 minutes before the market closed. Basically I'd have gotten the closing price or very close to it
