Because you guys can't afford to buy milk! Holy shit! My mom and I went to the grocery store to pick up a few items, milk being one (I can't live without it), and a half gallon of milk was $4!!!! FOUR DOLLARS OMG!!!

Not here. I just bought a half gallon for 99 cents. Of course that was on sale but it's normally not much higher. I think we get a gallon for 2.69 on average. Maybe a little less.

Depends where you are in Canada and which milk you buy. Where I am in Quebec, it's a bit cheaper.

it's funny, but milk in both countries is actually subsidized by the government. The damn stuff costs about 5 bucks a pint to produce, pasturize, inspect and distribute. But the governments started subsidizing it years ago when young parents complained they couldn't afford milk for their kids.

Wow..I'm finally using those handy tidbits of information from my business classes lol

I'm paying 3 bucks per 3 litres here. Though for the brand name stuff it's more. Tastes no different though.

I think it was likt 3.95 for a half gallon, and 4.29 a half gallon for the name brand. I about choked! haha. I told my cousin and she couldn't believe it either. That grocery store was pretty crazy. They have live fish of all sorts swimming around in this little tank. I felt bad for them because they were all huge, one was longer than the tank.
