Setting up a new server... been using Linux on our other server... anyone here have experience with both? If so which do you prefer and why?

i always have heard that freebsd is alot easier to use.

freebsd is better for a server. its more stable under high load than linux, and has more options for performance optimization.
linux is good for personal use.

yea.. linux has lots of goodies for personal use..
i use it on my pc because it has lots of user type features. usb works with my hardware, etc.
freebsd has less user friendly components, and more server.

I usually run one some of each for safety
But FreeBSD over Linux any day :)

i prefer linux, maybe cause i am used to it
