How much does gas cost in your area? does the beamer take a lot of gas? :sot:

Cuban Chick

I dont get the head line :)

Gas in Newmarket, which is north of Toronto, is sitting at 85.7/L for regular (87 octane) and 95.7/L for premium (91 octane)

I'm assuming the gas tank is 60 L....so it could cost just over $57.00 to fill the beamer at 95.7 cents/L.

In essence, YES, the beamer takes a crap load of gas.

you can try putting regular in it once or twice to see what it does ,but don't tell fluid I told you to do that! but the car is gonna run really crappy, and slow

Cuban Chick

Hahaha...........you know that putting in regular gas is gonna make it run really crappy and slow and u still tell me to try it? :) Thanks, you're ever so kind :P

Hardly the recommendation I'd take to heart..Recommend something positively and maybe i'll try it :)

I remember seeing something on the news about how it affects the gas system in a bad way, my friends dad had a van and always used them and kept having to bring it in to always fix something related to the fuel system, when they saw that he started to go to petro canada, where they 'say' they got some stuff in the gas that also cleans out the system, and the thing has been running 'better' since, I stick with petro canada over here cause it's close and they got petro points, but I go to ultramar also, but only cause they have pretty cashiers!

Cuban Chick

haha...I go to Esso.........get better stuff from the points....now I have like 20 free car washes...so they'll be for the beamer :)

There's a winter additive that Shell was putting in that would mess up the gas gauge on cars. My friend's truck had the problem, it would read 1/4 tank and it was empty. They APPARENTLY fixed it a long time ago but whatever.

And I was just in Toronto this weekend, gas was around 83 (regular) and it was what, 99 in montreal?

the beamer is NOT going through any car wash. Hand wash with soft cloth only. After we paint the MX it can use those washes up. It costs about a 10th as much to repaint as the beamer does, so if it gets scratched it's not as big of a deal

I think the fuel control is adjusted for premium gas, and if you run regular it runs lean and can make odd noises. Premium is also supposed to have less condensation in it too
