View Full Version : Do you remove folders from C:\program files\ when you uninstall a program?

or whatever drive letter you install programs on? most of the time it leaves some old log files, I try to do it every few months, or when I remeber, just got another 4 gigs of space from removing old dirs and programs I even forgot I had!

yeah, i go through once a month or so, winds up saving a ton of space over a year

No hahaha I have a couple programs that clean up orphaned files though.

Yup, but that's just good habits. It's not as bad with WinXP but 95 and 98 were bad for that. It would mess up a lot of things cause the uninstalls weren't that good. i'd go in, remove the folders and then clean the registry.

What do you use for this? I usually go in manually and delete them

Probably stuff like Cleansweep.

Yeah i think it's the cleansweep prog. Honestly I have about 4 and I don't know which does what I just remember watching it "clean orphaned files" :lol1:

Yeah, I check that all is removed always when uninstall something.

Nahh i'm too lazy
