I don't have any pics of our actual car on the laptop, and until we have it repainted this spring I'm not showing any anyways :P

Some might laugh at it, but it's REALLY light, corners very well and has plenty of power with a nicely geared 5 speed :) That and a big sub in the "trunk".
It's also great on gas for a very fast car.

Lyn, it's a 1996 Mazda MX3 Precidia.

Fluid, sorry to tell you this but when I see a Mazda MX3 Precidia on the road, I accelerate to get next to it and see if the girl driving it is hot. It's kinda like a Golf Cabrio.

Fluid
01-16-2005, 09:27 PM
that's ok. You'd have to do a hell of a lot of accelerating to get next to this.
Anyways, any real man knows, Miata's a chick car, not the MX3.

Anyways, any real man knows, Miata's a chick car, not the MX3.

The Miata is a RWD sports car with 50/50 weight distribution, and an impressive history of racing success in various classes. Less than 5% sold are automatics... The motor is overengineered, and has been proven past 450 horsepower on the stock block thanks to the massive aftermarket support available.

The Precidia is an FWD commuter car designed to compete with the Civic and Golf. If you do manage to retrofit a turbo/supercharger (as there are no aftermarket kits available) and can squeeze significant power out of all 1.8L the V6 model offers, you'll be snapping axles on your first test drive :)

I was going to bite my tongue at first, but claiming that the MX3 is any superior to the MX5 in any way other than luggage room was too much.

Next time you'd do well to bite your tongue. No one said it was superior. Just that the miata was designed and marketed to be attractive to women buyers.

By the way, the clutch fails on BOTH cars before you twist the axels.

If she's had a bad winter accident, don't get a truck. It's just about the worst thing she could drive. After speaking to cops and insurance people when we totalled a Ford F-250 last year on the highway, everybody told me that trucks get into more accidents in winter because they're too light for the size of the tires and they lose control very easily. We weren't speeding when our accident happened and didn't swerve or anything. We were just looking at the tow truck that was pulling a truck out of the ditch when all of a sudden we lost control and flipped it a few times on the highway. Landed in the same hole the previous accident created. Got lucky they took that truck out 5 minutes before I guess.

And btw, you're right. The Miata is a chick car, but I dunno which one I'd put ahead the MX3 or MX5. The Miata is either driven by feminite guys trying to look tough, or women. The Precidia is either college chicks, young professional women, or young guys.

you just reminded me of something I saw saturday. I was driving from brockville to kingston on the 401 and saw where the guard rail had been taken out on the right hand side. They had the police tape up and pylons so it wasn't fresh, I looked over at it, and there's a ravine, and on the other side of the ravine, with no tire tracks leading to it is a rolled and wrecked transport. The hood was cut back and covered with a tarp so I assume the driver didn't make it and couldn't be totally extracted. The distance that truck would have went without touching ground would be about 50-60 feet.

I'm guessing that was from when we had that ice storm last week and they hadn't figured out a way to get it out of there. Honestly with the ravine and creek between the truck and the highway I don't know how they'll get it out. Possibly a bulldozer come spring or something like that.

I had a great laugh last time I was there. My buddy and I figured TB probably MOVED, not closed. So we drive around Brockville to find it. Near the highway there's a sign that says "Downtown" and it points ahead. We go to DOWNTOWN Brockville. HAHAH!
