I've only ever had a non-tech job once... I was doing phone polls before a provincial election for one day. After that I did contract web design and technical writing through high school until I got hired by a local dotcom when I was 18. They went under a year later, and I moved to an ASP where I worked 3 years before I quit to work for myself.

My first job was working at a riding stable. We had a special program for disabled children, and later I helped to train the horses for their special needs. Then I went to work for a fellow by the name of Johnathan Aislinn (he's on the Canadian Olympic equestrian team and was married to Nancy Southern, the daugther of the owner of Spruce Meadows). I expanded my knowledge under him, but life and circumstances made me quit. After that, I worked at Safeway, then I worked at a Business Center for a few years. I was hired on by one of the companies there to do typesetting and ad layout and to run the advertising campaign for their services. They contracted me out to other companies when they didn't use me. Did that for a while. Then I went to the accounting department of a large oil company. After that I did some odd jobs while pregnant with my first child, then took some time off to have babies. Very soon after went full-force into the industry (jact was in it first and I came in by default).

12-15 did the babysitting thing.
16-18 I worked in a nursing home on weekends and weekly during summer break. When I first turned 16, I worked full time during the summer in some dirty, hot, filthy factory. It was a rude awakening. I couldn't wait for school to begin. I kept my grades up as well. No way in hell was I going to work in some factory again at entry level.
18, I went to a tech school during my senior year of high school. I still worked weekends at the home. The last 3 months of school, I worked in a dental office 3 days a week as part of our final training. I graduated tech school and then high school. Went to senior week. When I returned, I started my career working full time in dentistry. I worked for the same dentist, full time, for 13 years.
Late 30 worked porn part time and then went full time.
